Please watch this video for more details: https://youtu.be/9aK0L4J6xMg. The survey for my upcoming project has just closed, and I will post a video shortly announcing the winner and sharing my plans to create it! I have uploaded the non-electronic version of my R2-D2 robot here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:9873215. I removed all parts specifically designed for holding electronic components and replaced them with little cylindrical connectors. These are detailed in the "extras" file. The tallest connectors attach the body to the arms and legs, while the mid-sized ones connect the butt plate to the middle leg. The smaller ones connect the body to the butt plate. These should be pretty tight, but a bit of glue will ensure they hold securely together. The head slides onto its groove and turns smoothly in place. I recommend using glue for added security. Note that this model has not been printed personally by me, so please report any issues you experience during printing and I will try to correct them. However, all models should be printable at a 0.3mm layer height, with all required supports already included. Additionally, the design is scalable to some degree; though, downsizing may be tricky due to the pegs involved. Enjoy making this model! Be sure to post your results if you manage to create one!
