OBS:this version is no longer supportet, please download the latest version At last...R2D2 in scale 1:4 (body diameter 118mm) designed for 3d printing and with many details, Designed so most colored parts prints separatly so therefore very little painting. IMPORTENT Updates can be released with small changes, with no changes to already generatet stl files...the only file that ALWAYS are correct is the skp files. (and release date is below) And i have released a improved model at https://pinshape.com/items/114350-3d-printed-r2d2-from-star-wars-the-one-and-only ....there was so big change from this version so i thought it was best to separate them.the 'new' version on pinshape has changed the body with attachment for motor, and motorparts has changed as well. so that version is even better than this. This model is heavily inspired by astromech r2 droid from droid deposit/disneyworld, grip arms and hatches open/movable and still with plenty of room for motors/electronics/servos and batteries (or non electronic version for decoration purpose). Importent note: There are a lot of information out there about r2d2 and many versions/and sizes in all movies,so scale 1:4 may not be accurate in som cases, so therefore i decided to 'lock' the diameter of the body to 118mm and made all other parts from that. And i released the original sketchup (pro 2020) file here as well for download(works for all sketchup versions from 2020 and newer). updated 2022-12-29 corrected the orientation on wheelhouse and 'container' updated 2022-12-30 finnish wheeldrive and center wheel, use rubber orings updated 2022-12-30 cablechannels in legs updated 2022-12-31 buttplate and centerleg Release 2023-01-01 updated buttplate and generated all stl files ready to print Release 2023-01-04 Motorattachment for dome (and tip on how to connect the electronics between the dome and droid body with 'springpins and a pcb') Release 2023-01-06 Small details changed on body and legs.
