R2D2 Center Leg Lift Mechanism

Here's the design for version 2 of the R2D2 Centre Leg Lift Mechanism for the 3d printed R2Droid. The mechanism is designed for use on a Makerbot 2x, with 3 or 4 layers, .3 height, and no support needed on most pieces (some do require it) and around 20% infill. The design incorporates 6mm and 8mm standard bearings and small screws / 3mm bolts to assemble. A 3000 rpm, 12v DC motor (£12 ebay) drives the mechanism using an L298N driver board (£2 ebay) connected to an Arduino. To provide feedback on position, a variable resistor will be used or a switch can be employed. This is a first proof of concept and may require tweaking but seems solid enough to hold the weight needed for my R2. The base is designed specifically for the printed R2 (interlocks with the old centre leg frame base as I've glued mine in place) but can easily be redesigned for another base. As always, the STL and original 123D design files are shared so that others can learn from and tweak as needed. Any questions please feel free to comment and I'll do my best to help. The installation is still a work in progress. Here's a video of the first installation in action: https://youtu.be/MBka6m2LaSM. Additionally, a link to the 123d design files can be found at https://1drv.ms/f/s!AjIlFUf9uEzo9ylmublj7R01plZ6. A potentiometer bracket and arm have been added to measure position along with a modified top bracket for cable management and a plate to mount the L298N driver board.
