This upgrade enhances the center foot support for Mr. Baddeley's Version 2 R2-D2. Initially, I encountered issues with the original support being overly flexible. Drawing inspiration from the Mark III design, I created this revised model, adding extra cross-bar support to make it stiffer than the Mark III version. This upgrade necessitates longer bolts. To fabricate this part, I utilized PETG with six perimeters, 35% infill, and a .2 layer height. The required hardware consists of: 4 M4 70mm bolts for securing the foot to the base plate. 8 M6 60mm bolts for fastening the base plate to the body and skirt. 1 M4 40mm bolt with a flat head, which gets inserted between the top of the foot and the bottom of the support.
