Introducing my YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnnw56J_TeOsF4M_F5pPPJQ I've submitted this 3D printed robot mascot to the MakerBot challenge! As a newbie in 3D modeling and printing, I researched FDM printing practices. The customizable mascot has interchangeable parts for different colors and can be personalized by adding your own model inside its body. It features articulating feet, head, arms, and claws, with the spool on its back serving as Mr. Maker's fuel supply. Simply wind 1.75mm filament onto the spool (you may need to warm it for flexibility) and thread it through the top of its head. This design, made in Autodesk Inventor 2012, took about 10 hours. I'd appreciate feedback on its printing performance, as I was mindful of vertical slopes and tolerances but am new to designing for print. Stay tuned for the Mark II version and an Experimental Mark III body with a stylish enclosure for Gen 4 electronics guts! R. Maker, the robot's new name, will also have a segmented head for lighting or camera integration. Check out my channel for more updates on hackable and modular customization projects!
