R-Compass (v3)
thingiverse
This is a basic keychain tool for students, teachers, people with sloppy handwriting. I met a guy who showed me how construction workers write with such great penmanship (turns out if someone misreads their instructions, mistakes can be very costly!). My coworker showed me that if you take a flat edge and lay it down on the line you intend to write across, your penmanship instantly improves. Additionally, this edge is marked as imperial units/metric units measuring ruler It IS accurate and has been compared across a standard ruler. I imagine the target audience for this is students or teachers, but for a guy like me who has trouble not writing like a 5 year old it works pretty great too. This newest iteration has ports across the different units of measurement so that if you wanted to use tool as a compass all you would need is 2 pencils: one to "pin" the zero marker and the other to drag in a full circle at your desired unit of measurement. I may create a version with the "Pin" attached in the future I just don't see how that is possible with the limitations of PLA and without making the ruler poke you in the leg or tear up your shirt when you hang it on your keychain. Okay thanks, happy mathing I guess.
