R/C Hellcat (Mini) V1

"RC Ready" Hellcat Mini V1 This model is the result of another combined effort between (RonStG) (Aileron Ron) and myself (The3vilRoYcE), it's based on the original printable frame version posted last year, however there are some very significant changes. This plane is now a 1 wall shell print with almost a 600mm wing span that no longer requires to be covered post print. Unlike the other versions the ailerons are controlled through a single 9g servo and gear box system sunk into the belly of the plane. I would consider this a fairly advanced build as the parts are going to have to be pretty precise, especially these gearbox components. You will have to know your way around and be able to change settings in Cura in order to produce proper weighted and functioning parts. please follow the instruction carefully. This build has been tested in flight, it flies. Suggested weight range 450-600grams balanced on the rear of the front landing gear blocks. Required print bed size=235mmx235mm "Ender 3" or larger. 6/27/2022:(This is a test release only) we are still working on this model, however... we felt it was time to get some testers in to try it out in a configuration we know prints well and flies on our ends. This release will be a limited time deal will be taken down after it hits 200 downloads. please leave comments/feedback and feel free to ask questions, it would be greatly appreciated for helping improve this model. I would suggest working on the gear box first to make sure your printer can handle the details. More detailed assembly instructions will be gone over soon. Good luck and Enjoy! :) Original post page with sample gearboxes for testing found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5420735 Printing Instructions: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eEFWn5qj5NtcMb3Waoa93h0J0ime95e_/view?usp=sharing Non printed parts List: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tn6R9rYvimkv9Y4Y_u51h290Flf5dHbs/view?usp=sharing 6/28/2022: The thingiverse test release has already hit its download limit in the first night, wow that was fast... sorry to those that missed out on the free offer. The main models have been removed from there as per this posting as promised. A thanks to those that are participating in this build I look forward to seeing peoples results and suggestions, good or bad please post photos to the makes so we can see how other machines handle this build, there is always room for improvements. The full V1 model will be available here at cults3d.com for 10$. Keep an eye out for test releases on our new planes in the future. If this model is updated in any way, the new parts will be released here on this page, this model is also going to be added and kept up to date in the full collection combo pack as well. Update:7/3/2022: Adding 2 new central wing files with added clearance for the newer control arm drive shaft adapter to rotate completely. The first version of the central wing posted is fine if you are using the type B gearbox, however the newer style box is a bit snug and doesn't want to rotate the full 90, you can cut back the plastic a bit and it will function fine. This updated part will solve that issue tho. Look for "center wing added clearance" in downloads. 7/4/2022: Added Versions of the control surfaces without the cad supports. You will need to use bed only supports for these. I find that they stand up pretty easy without the assistance. 2 walls 0% infill on those and the horn will be almost solid. also adding Gcodes in a .zip that I used on the last print. My printer bed is 300x300mm im pretty sure cura can re center tho. 7/9/2022: I'm uploading all the photos and short videos to a drive folder that were taken during the now 2 Hellcat mini's I have printed. The assembly Instruction manual will include a lot of these photos and will be released in the next couple days. There have been a few additions to the files on the cults since the first test release, We are still working on a couple tweaks but we have no doubt that what we have already released will make flying plane parts, cant help but to just keep trying to advance the design or make things easier during assembly. I take a lot of photos and short clips that don't all make it to the pages... There are over 350 photos in this archive for reference. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1on-x9IfdFUYLLC2jkb3HBU0t2V_T9Los?usp=sharing update 7/10/2022: First draft of the manual is ready. I tried to cover everything you need to know to assemble the frame, I did not go into electronics setups yet. There are just too many different combinations. Assembly instructions can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mo801Ubra4YEXZSorIgxJun0NzELfR_i/view?usp=sharing 8/1/2022: Adding a couple things I found handy for this when putting together a good pavement landing gear. First is a new basic design of a rolling rear wheel. Its strong, tested and its easy to make,I used 2 walls at 60% infill and it turned out great, full rudder authority at about 15% throttle. The second thing I'm gonna throw in here is some simple stops to keep the wheels from sliding off or needing glue. is a simple ring with a 3 mm hole for the axle and a 2mm hole on the side to insert a small screw and squeeze lock it onto the shaft. No sense in buying these things if we can just make them well enough for this purpose.
