R/C Helicopter Rear Rotor Blade

R/C Helicopter Rear Rotor Blade

As soon as I got a new 3D printer, my friend started sending me things to print for him right away. His remote control helicopter had a broken rear rotor blade, so I decided to take on the challenge. The copter is just a simple toy without any fancy features or name, only known as "Tough-Copter". I printed this part twice until I got it just right. The first time, I printed with a raft and supports, but the blade was sitting upright like normal. However, the support material on the bottom of the blades was extremely difficult to remove cleanly and smoothly due to its thinness. Next, I tried printing it with a brim instead and supports, but this time I turned the blade 90 degrees to one side. This added extra support just to the underside of the middle cylinder and the mounting points for the blades. That seems to be the best way to print it.
