Summary Building a Bismarck Battleship Model The plan is to create an accurate 1-meter long model of the German battleship Bismarck, launched in 1939 by the German naval forces. The project features will include: 1 Meter Long Scale Excellent Printability At least one turnable artillery piece that can shoot water Bluetooth control using an Android smartphone Easy to build electronics at a low cost Printer Issues Hold Back Progress Unfortunately, recent misfortunes have halted progress on this challenge. A broken printer, car trouble, and a sick child have made it difficult to continue work. Current Status So far, the following parts are complete: Water Pump Assembly Hull with internal support (printable) Upper section of the ship, including bridge and artillery pieces (modeled but not printable) To-Do List Easy-to-rebuild electronics at home Overall control using HC-05 Bluetooth module and ATMega processor Write simple software for Android and ATMega/Arduino devices Motor control with a basic MOSFET H-Bridge Paddle control using a cheap servo motor Upload layout and schematics for the electronics (PCB) Write code for Android and ATMega/Arduino processors Create a model carrier for electronics, motors, and an airsoft BB bearing for the turnable artillery piece Make the bridge section printable Write tutorials on how to build the project The project has consumed around 50 hours of printer time in the last week, but issues with print quality have been ongoing.
