R/C Antenna Cover
thingiverse
Optimal mounting of a r/c receiver on a boat model especially on a r/c sailboat is always a challenge. In the small classes like RG65 or MicroMagic the tiny 2.4 GHz antennas will be very close to the water or even below when installing receiver and antenna within the hull. This may cause transmitting issues. Bringing the antenna to the deck requires a hole and some kind of protector against water and/or mechanical stress. Inspired by the R/C airplane people, I designed a little cover for the antennas which can be glued to the deck. For the antenna, a piece of PTFE tube is glued between the 3D printed halves of the cover. This acts as a guide when inserting the antenna.
