QX08 Family of Pegs This is another entry into my growing PEGBOARD MADNESS collection of designs. There are more designs being worked out, so come back later! These pegs are variations on existing Pegboard Hooks and accessories as can be found in industrial catalogs. They are BEEFY objects, and can withstand moderate to heavier levels of use! The bodies of these components consist of an 8-sided polygon circumscribed on a 4.5mm diameter circle swept along a path. I have included STEP files of the objects so that you can easily import them into most CAD programs and modify/adapt or create innovative storage solutions that you can use and contribute to the 3D community. Using the Octagon Profile provides better strength and wear than a Rectangular Profile, but doesn’t require supports during the build that a Circle Profile would require. See my QX09 family that uses these pegs at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2121956 FILES: QX08a Simple Hook: This is your basic hook. It prints in 7 minutes. Great place to start out. You may want to add to the infill% or Shells for certain applications requiring greater strength. QX08b VersaDaptor – Two Posts: This is a funny looking device I designed to be a central component to future designs. For example, it can support two levels of shelving! Check out my QX09 family to see one use. QX08c VersaDaptor – Post & Hook: Somewhat like the QX08b, except it provides ONE post for shelving, and a hook underneath for hanging other objects. These Peg STL’s were sliced and coded using ReplicatorG employing 1 shell (2 total) and 10% Infill using PLA. No rafts or supports! FlashForge Creator Pro (Similar to Makerbot Replicator 2) Heated Bed 45 Celsius (Heated Bed not required, but I have good luck with a little warmth!) Blue Painters Tape on bed, no further treatment Print Temperature 220 degrees Celsius Feedrate 40 mm/s Travel Feedrate 55 If anybody has more optimum feedrates, please share! REQUEST: Please help me improve my sharing! STEP files have proven reliable for me to transport file between different CAD platforms.
