Quoridor - A simple boardgame for 2 to 4 players (Modern redesign)
thingiverse
Quoridor is an engaging strategy boardgame suitable for 2 to 4 players of all ages. Originally designed by Mirko Marchesi, this game is published by Gigamic Games. 3D Printing: * 4 player pawns are required (2 players can use optional pawns) * 4 player start tiles are necessary (optional) * 20 Walls are needed * A Quoridor board is essential * Storage box top and bottom are optional This game is designed for easy 3D printing with no support needed. Small print layers and a slow print speed are recommended due to the small size of the player and wall pawns. The walls are designed to fit tightly in the board, so any excess material may need to be removed. Rules of the Game: Quoridor is played on an 81 square space game board (9x9). Each player starts with a pawn at the center space of one edge of the board. In a two-player game, the pawns begin opposite each other. The goal is for players to move their pawn to any space on the opposite side of the board from which it began. Quoridor's unique feature is its twenty walls. Walls are flat two-space-wide pieces that can be placed in the groove between spaces, blocking all pawns' paths and requiring them to go around. The walls are divided equally among players at the start of the game and cannot be moved or removed once placed. On a turn, a player may move their pawn or place a wall if possible. Pawns can be moved to any space at a right angle but not diagonally. If adjacent to another pawn, the pawn can jump over that pawn. If an adjacent pawn has a third pawn or a wall on the other side of it, the player can move to either space immediately adjacent (left or right) to the first pawn. Walls cannot be jumped, including when moving laterally due to a pawn or wall behind a jumped pawn. Walls can be placed directly between two spaces in any groove not already occupied by a wall. However, a wall cannot be placed that cuts off the only remaining path of any pawn to the side of the board it must reach.
