Quip Gum Insert for Eclipse Style Gum
thingiverse
I really liked the Quip Gum dispenser but was not a big fan of the gum itself. This insert allows you to load pieces of nine Eclipse gum in the dispenser (It can fit ten but works more reliably with nine results may vary though). There are no extra parts required, you only need the spring from the original insert and a scrap piece of filament. To assemble the follower place the spring into it like in the above picture. Then insert the filament through the wholes in the follower and trim it flush (I melted and flattened the ends with a lighter to prevent it from slipping out. The flat end of the spring goes through the slot at the top to hook on the insert, I use a piece of tape to make sure it will not slip out. As for print direction I printed the follower as is in the file and the insert with the top on the bed, though you may be able to print a different way I was just afraid that the curved back would not stick to my bed. I used supports and rafts for this print. This project is far from perfect but it's working well enough. Would love to have a design the used the original follower, I just couldn't make it work hopefully someone else can.
