Quintus Tullius Cicero, a renowned Roman statesman and military commander, was born in 102 BC to a family of prominent equestrians, his father being a wealthy landowner in Arpinum. This picturesque town lies approximately 100 kilometers south-east of Rome, nestled in the rolling hills of ancient Italy. Born into a life of luxury, Cicero's younger brother, Marcus Tullius Cicero, would go on to become one of the most celebrated orators and politicians of his time. A marble bust of Quintus Tullius Cicero has been discovered, but its origins are shrouded in mystery. The mould may have been fashioned from an original depiction of Cicero himself, or perhaps it is a reworking of another notable figure from ancient Rome.
