Many crafters find quilting to be a fun hobby, creating bedspreads, blankets, table runners, wall hangings and other decorative items. A quilt typically consists of colorful fabrics arranged in geometric patterns. It is stiffened by sandwiching it between batting material and a back fabric, which must be sewn together. This can be done by sewing across the quilt in various directions to hide or minimize the necessary stitching. Other quilters prefer to highlight this stitching by using different stitch patterns, adding an extra visual element to the quilt. Many skilled quilters create these patterns freehand on quilting machines, while less experienced ones may sketch a design on the fabric with a washable pen and then follow it with their machine. The templates provided here include several fun shapes for practice, each measuring 3 inches square and 1mm thick, making them easy to trace onto a quilt.
