Quiet Water Nozzle for Water Garden
prusaprinters

My daughter got a ‘Back to the Roots’ Water Garden for Christmas and we set up with a betta fish. The water pump discharges horizontally about an inch above the water level in the plant tray, resulting in a constant water noise. After one night I had to do something… I designed an elbow for the water pump exit that discharges below the waterline in the plant tray, eliminating the burbling noise.

There is a “waterfall” from the plant tray where the water drops into the tank, but I also assumed the pump discharge performs some level of aeration. So despite my initial non-aerated version working perfectly I added an aeration port to the quiet nozzle to add some bubbles.

Print Instructions

Printed in Overture PETG Black @ 0.3mm layer, 3 perimeters, no support needed. No infill required due to wall thickness, this will change if you scale it up.

Install

The elbow slips over the 12mm pump outlet and has a draft on the ID for a slight friction fit.
