Quiet Lightweight Magnetic Print Head - Kossel - e3D V6
thingiverse
This print head is based on geometry from a magnetic print head by Thingiverse user Atziano - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2859992. Changes I've made are to the print head itself. See Atziano's post for instructions on making the rods and carriages. Major additions include: - Magnet wells angled towards linear rails - Increased depth of magnet wells to allow a 5mm x 10mm disk magnet can be stacked behind countersunk magnets - Combined cage to secure E3D V6 (threaded version) directly to print head plate - Combined part cooling duct to print head plate Ultimaker style Note: - Heat sink cooling fan is a generic 30mm fan with the housing removed, fixed with epoxy glue to fan mount in print head. - Part cooling fan used is a Noctua 40mm x 20mm (very quiet), any 40mm will fit however. If using full 230mm(ish) print bed, recommend not a 10mm thick fan. - Additional magnets are grade N52 neodymium disk magnets, (5mm x 10mm). Enjoy Updates: v2 - 05/7/19 currently in testing. Will upload guide to making rods accurately as well as print head with updated geometry. v1.1 increases the cut out below fan (reducing thin wall) Uploaded a version without logo text on
