Daughter was thrilled with her discovery that a similar product could be made online for $80 dollars. With just a few 1/4 inch dowels and hours of printing, she managed to create one for ~10 bucks including plastic and power. The stand turned out sturdy enough to hold up to the 80mm rings, while smaller ones would likely fit even better. To ensure perfect vertical alignment of the posts, I added a printed jig that made all the difference.
