Quicko T12 Aluminum Handle Wire Strain Relief
thingiverse
If you're using a Quicko T12 soldering iron with a metal handle, one of its main vulnerabilities is that the wiring within the handle lacks sufficient strain relief. To address this issue, I recommend installing this small component into the notch, which creates a space for securing a cable tie. The first time I assembled this handle, the mercury switch wire snapped due to excessive twisting. This little piece has helped rectify the problem and gives me greater confidence that the wires won't snap again in the future. It's worth noting that I didn't glue the piece into place as the aluminum handle case sits relatively flush with where the strain relief component slots in. Since this small part is challenging to print accurately, perfection isn't a requirement. Its primary function is to provide strain relief, and it doesn't need to look aesthetically pleasing.
