Quick-Twist Release Greg's X Carriage

Finally printed an extruder design that worked well right away, but the bolt-on tabs are slightly too long and need 0.5mm trimming. The tabs attach to grooves in the x carriage, providing a quick 3-second extruder removal by twisting and lifting. No additional hardware is required, and with proper printing, it holds as well as a stock carriage. Photos show an extruder without a nozzle for easier viewing. Update: After five months, the extruder has not wobbled loose, even with one lock breaking off. Update 2: Nearly three years later, a part failed due to a tab breaking when forced into place too tightly. A washer recommendation is given to add strength and rigidity between the bolt head and plastic. To install, print the STL (adjust tolerance settings as needed), create additional tabs for other extruders, attach tabs to the carriage instead of bolting the extruder directly, line up with slots on top, push in, twist to install or reverse to remove.
