Quick trigger mod for PowerA wireless gamecube controller.
thingiverse
The wireless Gamecube controller by PowerA has a unique trigger mechanism that lacks an analog sensor, yet still retains the long travel distance of the original controller. This simple modification shortens the travel distance by 3.3mm, ensuring that the trigger remains in constant contact with the rubber membrane of the contact switch. To create this mod, a peg is intentionally designed to be loose-fitting to prevent it from breaking within the trigger if it were too tight. The rubber membrane holds the peg securely in place, eliminating any rattling sounds. A ring piece is also added to allow the trigger to bottom out against a printed plastic piece instead of the small PCB where the contact is located. One potential drawback of this modification is that the springs vibrate like a tuning fork when pressed, creating an annoying sound. However, this issue does not bother me personally, and I can see how it might be a problem for others.
