Quick Tension Knobs Remix for Deltaprintr

I really loved mildmojo's Quick Tension Knobs for Deltaprintr, but they kept breaking off their heads. I reworked his design to use an M5x35mm hex cap bolt and press-fit threaded insert for plastics instead of 3D-printed knobs. First, I redesigned the carrier to utilize the threaded insert and M5 bolt and made a slight modification to the mount, widening the tabs just a couple of millimeters. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .2mm Infill: 30% Notes: I like to start my prints with a narrow, single-layer brim to help properly prime the extruder and ensure good adhesion to the bed. I also print the first layer at about 85% height and 40% speed for a strong bond. With the mounts, I added support under the tabs for a cleaner print. Cleaning out the holes requires an 1/8" drill bit to clear out the mount tab holes and hole for the pulley in the carrier. Post-Printing: Cleaning out the holes with a 1/8" drill bit makes it easy to access the mount tab holes and pulley hole in the carrier. Installing the Press-Fit Threaded Inserts for Plastic was a breeze. I found M5 press-fit threaded inserts for plastic at McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/#92398a125/) that cost $13.37 for 25 pieces. They're worth incorporating into your designs whenever possible. To install them, use a small bench vise to press them into the carrier. Make sure to align the insert straight in the hole before pressing it into place. How I Designed This: SketchUp was my go-to tool for reworking mildmojo's STL files and making the necessary modifications.
