<p>I needed a quick release shackle to allow my students egg droppers to drop easily from a beam hanging from the ceiling.&nbsp;<br><br>The latch can print with no supports or brim.</p><p>The main body needs to be printed with supports everywhere (would block the supports in the tube through the body)</p><p>The pin is best printed in the orientation it is in currently as printed vertical, it can break apart along the layer lines.</p><p>If you find the pin too weak, replace with a piece of M6 threaded rod roughly 70mm in length, with a nut on it to hold the spring in.</p><p>Construction -</p><ol><li>Remove all supports</li><li>Bolt the two main pieces together</li><li>Place the spring on the pin</li><li>Place the pin and spring inside the main body and use the split ring to keep it in place</li><li>Pull the pin out as you close the latch</li><li>Pulling the pin via the split ring releases the latch</li></ol><p>You will also need&nbsp;</p><ul><li>1 M6 50mm in length bolt</li><li>&nbsp;M6 nut&nbsp;</li><li>Split ring to go through the pin</li><li>11mm od, 8mm id spring, 25mm in length- I ordered mine from here <a href="https://springsandthings.me.uk/shop/compression_springs/11mm-compression-springs/">https://springsandthings.me.uk/shop/compression_springs/11mm-compression-springs/</a>&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Optional - if pin is too weak.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>M6 threaded rod</li><li>M6 nut</li></ul>
