Quick Release post for SLIK tripods
thingiverse
I purchased a SLIK tripod many years ago featuring a Quick Release post. It functions extremely well, allowing you to easily attach and detach your camera with minimal effort. The post can be secured directly to your camera, making it simple to switch between different cameras on days out. As I've acquired multiple cameras over time, friends may also find themselves in need of using the tripod for outings. Fortunately, additional posts are available, though they come at a higher cost. It's time to get creative! I took precise measurements and created a quick OpenScad model to guide me through this project. To secure my camera base, I used thin foam (approximately 1mm thick) and purchased brass grub screws with a ¼" BSW thread, measuring 5/8" in length. For those having trouble finding the correct grub screw, note that ¼" BSW is equivalent to ¼" UNC.
