Quick Release Nut 3/8-16
thingiverse
This is a duplicate of Thing 969358, resized for use with 3/8-16 threaded rod. The pivot shaft is a 1/8" rod pressed into place. It serves as a base to which other features can be added. You can access it at OnShape.com - the link is goo.gl/wjzSfb. If you are an OnShape user, you can copy this and modify it to suit your needs. A quick video of it in action is available: https://youtube.com/video/6ufaXOkC9cM It will slide smoothly in one direction but tend to lock down in the other direction. To keep it locked down, some pressure must be applied. This design was created as part of my project to develop a reliable vertical slide for low-cost USB microscopes. In this context, the weight of the microscope itself provides the necessary force. However, if used horizontally, additional spring force may be required. I have successfully printed this in ABS and it worked well. I have not tested PLA yet.
