Quick release Extruder - X carriage - E3D V6
thingiverse
I Have Been Limited in X Axis Travel By A Combination of X Carriage & Extruder, So I Designed This To Be As Compact as Possible With Easy Swap Between Extruders. For The 3 mm Version ( M8 Hobbed Bolt on 39:11 Gear Ratio) I Used the E3D All Metal Hotend. I Plan to Adapt and Redesign the Extruder for 1.75 mm Filament Direct Drive in the Coming Weeks. Thanks Go to Bettak at Grabcad For the Hotend, And Anthony Tripper For the Herringbone Gears. The New X Carriage Design Enables a More Compact Setup Than Before, With Room for Easy Swap Between Stepper Motors for 3mm and 1.75 mm Filament Direct Drive. I Used the E3D All Metal Hotend for this Design, Which Is Now Compatible with Direct Drive for 1.75 mm Filament. I'm Glad to Have Received Help from Bettak at Grabcad for the Hotend, And Anthony Tripper for the Herringbone Gears. Updates: February 6th: Added Notch in Extruder Body for Better Cable Routing. Extruder Body V2 R2.2.stl Available (jpeg Image). For those who prefer it, original V2 R2.stl is also included. February 12th: Designed and Implemented Direct Drive Extruder for 1.75 mm Filament, Based on Mk8 Hobbed Drive Bush March 6th: Minor Adjustments Made to the Extruder Body for Easier Post-Print Cleanup. New Version is V2 R2.5.
