The LM8UU X carriage enables swift tool changes on your 3D printer, compatible with Mendel, Prusa, and MendelMax systems. It has recently been updated to include a Greg/Wade extruder adapter plate and Sketchup files for customizing additional parts. A belt clamp and low-profile catch have also been added. Assembly involves printing two parts vertically and joining them with 20mm M3 bolts. Linear bearings slide in and secure with zip ties, while a belt adjuster is located on one side of the belt clamps. The extruder design is based on Greg's work, with modifications for compatibility. Two M4 (13mm) 624 bearings are required for the Quick-Fit Lever. A fan mount is featured on one side, and the carriage can be expanded by adding spacers without removing the printer – ideal for potential triple extruder use.
