Quick&Easy Face Shield for lamination film or PVC report sheets (Customizable)

cults3d

3D printed face shield which is optimized for using lamination film or PVC Cover sheets. (Inspired by the Prusa Face Shield). All you need is a 3D printer, a laminator and a screwdriver (or similar to push 3 holes). Instead of having pins to hook in a sheet with holes, this design has a small crack to insert the lamination sheet, just push through the holes with a screwdriver to fix it. There is no open gap at the top between head and shield to avoid infections. Use PVC Sheets like:https://www.amazon.de/HiClear-Abdeckfolien-Mikrometer-kristallklar-transparent/dp/B000YC2UTS/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=KCKB7VZBP8FZ6RQZWPXY Print time is ~ 1.5h using 0.3-0.35 layer height. Feedback is highly welcome!! Update 1/4/2020 Uploaded FaceShield_faster.stl which prints in ~1:15 only. The forehead piece is still ~18mm high to make it comfortable. But some parts on the side are lower to save time. Also added some raft just for the temple to make it stick better (remove it after printing) Uploaded FaceShield_Stacked_needsSupport.stl to print 4 at once (2x 2 stacked) Need to enable support to print this. (4 in ~ 7h) Uploaded FaceShield_Fast_wo_gapfill.stl. Prints in ~1h but is without a closed gap between forehead and shield (similar to Prusa) More details see: http://3dprintapps.de/faceshield.html Assembly The assembly is much easier, since you do not need to find the right coordinates to punch holes in the sheet upfront. 1) Use a sharp knife to clean the crack from 3d print left overs (e.g. stringing) 2) Break-out the pins which are printed on the face shield front gap. 3) insert the lamination sheet (after it has been run through a lamination machine) into the crack 4) Use a screwdriver to punsh the 3 hole through the sheet. If your sheet is very strong, you might need to heat your screwdriver to burn the holes through. 5) Optionally, push the pins into the holes. But even without pins the sheet is quite fixed. 6) repeat the same steps with the bottom stabilizer (you might want to shorten the lamination film sheet ) 7) cut a rubber band ~20cm and cut a 1cm hole on each side to clip it into the hooks DONE !! OpenSCAD File included for easy modification and remixing.Cusomizable using Thingiverse/OpenScad customizer !! Presented by http://3dprintapps.de
