Quick 8MM Calibration for X Y Z
thingiverse
I designed a part that helps me calibrate my affordable printer. Slots and holes are specifically designed for 8mm sized linear rods to fit snugly. To set steps, use the entire X/Y measurement (30mm * 30mm) and the rod should fit tightly into the hole. Rods should slide in and out of slots with minimal resistance. This part utilizes a concept of setting exterior specs to get correctly proportioned interior specs. If needed, this part can be flipped to sit on a vertical axis to set very accurate Z steps, but may require printing with supports. To achieve desired results, set all layers to intended finish settings. For example, for calibration, use single outline, single bottom layer, and single top layer. Then, print using the same settings. Print Settings: Printer: GeeTech I3 Pro C Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: any Infill: 35% Notes: The rounded edges of this design prevent jagged or distorted edges from throwing off measurement. Post-Printing: Size: 30mm 30mm 10mm
