Quetzal pitcheron glider, original design by Marco Ricci. Balsa wood version available here (lesgpr.free.fr) courtesy of Gérard Risbourg. Maiden flight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li0pYkLQ2i4 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TqiTjrMw3k CHARACTERISTICS: Wing span: 100cm Wing profile: FAD05_CNC CG: 50mm from LE (3% static margin) Servos: Two servos HK939MG - see below for fuselage variants Power: 2 x Lipo 600mAh (1S2P - parallel) RC: Small 4ch receiver - Delta mixer. Lead: 18g Flying weight: 330g FUSELAGE Two parts joined with 2mm carbon rod or wood toothpick. Four fuselage variants for common servos: - Corona 939/929MG - remove small pads - (can be HV version), HK939MG (Hobbyking) - Hextronic HXT900: Cheap servo - BlueArrow D05010MG, similar to PowerHD DSM44, - Hyperion DS09-AMD, Servo is mounted from the front and maintained with screws, assembly can be difficult for "big" servos like Corona and Hxt900. Backside is maintained by the 2 screws and front by two turns of crystal tape around the fuselage. ELEVATOR/RUDDER Elevator is built around carbon rod diam. 3mm and balsa like the original version. "Croupion" part allows for removable tail/rudder by two nylon M3 screws. WING Wing is printed in 3 parts (Aile1, Aile2, Aile3), with some built-in reinforcement/support inside for small wing joiners (carbon rod 2mm) and main 6mm carbon rod. Wing root can be added: protect fuselage and add some spacing for linkage. SERVO LINKAGE One plastic tube is inserted inside wing root around 20mm long for control linkage. Control linkage is built using 1mm steel rod, "Z" shape on servo side. Round each tip. Another small plastic tube for rubber band maintaining wings (also used to balance CG) RC SETTINGS Delta mixer Elevator function: +/-9mm measured at trailing edge, wing root Aileron function: +/-6mm measured at trailing edge, wing root Neutral wing position with little mark on "Croupion" part.
