(Update: You may prefer this newer lighter "Version 8" Model that has been fine-tuned for Breachers and Contractors, etc: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6029933 ) I remixed this "Version 2" rifle stock from smassie75's excellent remix of Sanlaki's design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4538594)... I re-designed this VR Rifle Stock to be SIMPLE, Fast to make, and to use common 1/2-Inch, Schedule 40, PVC Pipe. I use about 14 Inches of Pipe, but some of my friends use 12 inches or even 18 inches, it's up to you, this Quest-Rifle-Pack is just the items needed for you to make a custom fit Gaming Rifle. Make the stock as long, or short, as you want it to be. There are a variety of Butt-Stocks included that fit the rifle, some with raised cheek rests, some without. Attachment points for a sling are also provided, as well as the ability to raise or lower the height of Butt-Stock to fit "You". I first designed a stock that looked like my M4, but then I realized it needed to be A LOT lighter, and while gaming, I couldn't see "the cool-looking stock" anyway, so I went "Minimalist" and "pure functionality". I used four "100 Pound Neodymium Magnets" from Amazon ("https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072K586ZW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details).. I used the type of Magnets that sit in a metal case, with a hole through the center: (DIYMAG Neodymium Round Base Cup Magnet,100LBS Strong Rare Earth Magnets with Heavy Duty Countersunk Hole and Stainless Screws for Refrigerator Magnets,Office,Craft,etc-Dia 1.26 inch-Pack of 10) The magnet mounts fit inside the protective sensor ring of your Hand-Controllers, and then you just "Rotate the Hand-grips at an angle" to pull the Hand-Controllers away from the Magnetic attachment points of the rifle so you can switch between rifles and swords, or grenades, or climbing, "On-The-Fly" while playing "Population: One" or "Contractors" in VR.. The magnets don't interfere with the Quest Equipment at all. The Hand Controllers will "Self-Find" their positions on the Rifle Stock while it's hanging down on a strap without you having to look for the stock. Simply hold the hand-Controllers down near where the stock is hanging on your shoulder strap, and the magnets will kinda drag the lightweight Rifle Stock onto the hand-controllers. I've printed over 30 of these rifles for friends and family, and printed probably 100 Variations and failed designs along the way ;) I used Microsoft 3D Builder to design this, so there may be some minor artifacts in some of the stl files, but all of them print fine on all of our printers.. "It is what it is", sorry... There is a "Drill Template" included with holes on both sides that will slide over 1/2-Inch PVC Pipe so you can make holes in your PVC Pipe on both sides to accept the pins that hold the parts in Place... This makes the rifle stock VERY adjustable!! My hit-rate using the AWP Sniper Rifle in "Population: One" JUMPED DRAMATICALLY when I started using the Quest Rifle. Head-shots using the UMP or P-90 became EASY, especially when needing to aim at longer distances. If the 100 Pound Neodymium Magnets are too strong for you to easily twist the hand-controllers off the Rifle Stock, you may want to replace the Magnets that are on the Rifle itself with a 1.26mm metal disk.. Personally I like the "Positive Lock" I get while using two 100LB Magnets to secure each hand-controller to the rifle stock, but YMMV. If you find this useful, consider tossing us a motivational "Like" please.
