Standing at the center of the southern enclosure, this historic fountain was unveiled on May 25, 1846, to celebrate the Queen's twenty-seventh birthday. Designed by A.H.Wilds, it was jointly funded by John Cordy Burrows and a community donation, with production handled by the Eagle Foundry in Gloucester Road. Dimensions of the Fountain Reaching thirty-two feet tall, this stunning structure features two shallow pools supported by three iron dolphins above a large pool, resting atop a base of sarsen stones found in 1823 near the Steine by local workers. To commemorate its opening day, local musician Charles Coote composed the renowned Fountain Quadrilles. In 1990, the top section of the fountain underwent a major restoration Transparent water is now visible, showcasing previously obscured details beneath the surface
