Queen Ant Founding Trap Urban

This rectangular Queen ant founding trap can be set and left. It has 4 Queen compartments, with a removable base for carrying/storage, and a removable lid, with 3 side overhang, to mimic the darkness of a natural rock/bark cover. This one is mainly designed to use in a more urban setting along walls, fences, and gutters. There is a central water well compartment for a piece of sponge, or cotton ball, where the Queens can drink and also to create ideal humidity to entice the Queen to enter the trap. The lid has a central hole for topping up the water well. To set: Remove the base and lid, fill the water well, add damp sand, or soil, to the 4 compartments, clip on the lid, place it with the non overhang side tight against a wall. fence or gutter so that it creates a runway into the nest for roving Queens who like to run along these areas. The beauty of these trap are that you can set them and come back the next day to check them, or even leave them a few days if you wish. I like to put a flat rock, brick or tile, on the top of them to make sure local wildlife or wind doesn't disturb them. Size: 10cm x 5.5cm x 2 cm high approx It can be resized in your slicer by using the % amount to print them larger or smaller depending on what species you are after. This one is sized to trap Camponotus and smaller sized Queens.
