QUBD TwoUp Z axis 2nd motor mod
pinshape
SummaryGot tired of the sagging X axis and the pulley mod is limited in help. Remixed Stephanburger parts and modified them so they mirror correctly and the idle pulle screw faces the back now. Big difference in quality! 0.05 mm layers using a 0.25 mm hot end. Made 20 layers thin lithopanes with this mod without any problems. Note that you need to move the existing Y axis motor to the center of the base together with the belt. That will also get rid of the "sideways jerk" that this printer has (someone else came up with the idea, don't remember so chime in). My platform is now made of aluminum since the original fiber board was warping. Tried a 3d printed one but wasn't straight enough for my liking.Custom SectionInstructionsYou will need to move the Y axis motor and belt to the base as shown (someone else came up with the idea) Parts needed: -Stepper motor (connect in parallel to existing Z motor) -Drive screw (from QUBD or other source) -Drive nut (QUBD or others) -Coupler (QUBD or others) Also, print a couple of screws to cover the top and bottom (Stephanburger parts)
