QUBD TwoUp : x-gantry replacement ( trial narrow version )
thingiverse
This trial design from my previous version two provides extra 25mm x-axis print area. There is no change on the left half and lead screw nut holder. Changes from version two are as follows: Can bring the nozzle further than the stock printbed, meaning only those with a wider printbed can get the benefit. Version two already can reach the at most right of the stock printbed. Has a shorter grip to the horizontal rods. This requires precise output, which may be difficult for the original TwoUp without upgrades. Requires smaller bearings costing $7.69/10pcs at Amazon. Top : v2, bottom : v3 -- 25mm narrower Printing Instruction The key to this design is firm grip to the horizontal rods, and achieving precision similar to the original TwoUp can be very difficult. If your x-carriage suffers from sagging or wobbling, consider upgrading (or similar) to your TwoUp in advance. Relevant upgrades include: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:962471 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:952796 To implement this upgrade, print two parts of the attached design - one as it is and one mirrored. Next, print the remaining parts (x_gantry_left* and z_axis_holder) from [v2] design found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:952796/#files. Assembly Instructions are outlined below: Insert an M4 machine screw to the printed part. Then place an M4 washer followed by 2pcs of 624Z bearing, then another M4 washer. Insert an LM8LUU bearing next. Optional - you can also place an additional LM8SUU bearing for increased stability.
