QUBD OneUp X Gantry Replacement
thingiverse
While helping a friend with a QUBD OneUp printer, I got stuck on finding a solution to the sagging stock X gantry. Most available parts were designed for the TwoUp and would limit the printer's build volume by half. That meant a significant reduction in printing space. I finally found a remix of a decent TwoUp gantry upgrade that addressed some of the loss of X movement, but it wasn't a complete solution yet. Building on those two designs, I tweaked them to allow for a full range of motion for the heated bed and the stock hotend using this extruder/hotend mount and this x carriage. A Z mount design allowed me to open up more space, which should prevent any limits on downward travel during printing. Assembling this upgrade required M4 hardware, just like mentioned in the original instructions. It also needed some patience while tightening things down during assembly, as excessive part warping could occur otherwise. Overall, I'm very pleased with how well this upgrade works for my OneUp printer. The gantry now feels solid and ready to print high-quality objects.
