QUBD : OneUp, TwoUp extruder spacer
thingiverse
I observed that many users are not satisfied with the standard hotend (aka Anubis) on QUBD OneUp/TwoUp printers, frequently encountering filament jam issues. There are two primary reasons why this occurs: firstly, the filament isn't aligned correctly with the drive gear, causing friction and ultimately a blockage; secondly, heat from the hotend warms up the filament before it reaches the drive gear, softening it to the point where it becomes impossible to push straight through and instead bends into a tangled mess. Fortunately, the main issue of improper alignment and partial reason of softened filament can be resolved using the Thingiverse model located at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:693232. My design goes further in helping to prevent these problems by utilizing additional spacers. I have successfully operated my QUBD printers without interruption for over 20kg with just two adjustments and the modification of converting one unit into a Bowden setup.
