QUBD Dual Quickfit mount plate
pinshape
Summary I backed QUBD's dual extruder Kickstarter with high hopes, but upon arrival, my excitement quickly turned to dismay - the extruder was too short for my Quick Fit X carriage! After being met with radio silence from their tech support team regarding mounting it on a Prusa Mendel, I took matters into my own hands and designed a custom mount. I created a bowden connection that allows both hotends to be mounted on a single aluminum block, minimizing the build volume lost due to the dual heads, and paired this with a Quick-Fit plate for RichRap's QuickFit extruder. For testing purposes, I utilized the "poor man's" 1.75mm bowden fittings made from an M4 nut and 4mm Teflon tubing, which is what this design is specifically tailored for. Once testing is complete, I will publish updated STL and design files. Instructions Print the mount. Install the bowden tube. Use two QUBD extruders on a Quick Fit carriage.
