Quartz crystal #3

sketchfab

This crystal of doubly terminated α quartz (SiO₂) displays all the distinctive visual characteristics of quartz at its core level. The crystal's six-sided shape is formed by two trigonal prisms, and it features dipyramidal terminations that are pale in color and translucent. Typically, this type of crystal has striations perpendicular to the Z-axis (or C-axis) on its prism faces. Furthermore, this particular specimen also exhibits a smaller interpenetrant twin, adding an extra layer of complexity to its structure.
