Quarter Inch Socket Boxes
prusaprinters
Had one of those small briefcase like organizers that all the sockets came in and they just kept falling out. Saw a few other designs, but over the years have collected more than one of each socket. So designed this to hold two of each, except for a couple pieces that only had one. Made one for Metric and the other for Standard ¼ sockets. The top slides on so if you tip it over the sockets won't all fall out. Also so you can grab the whole thing out of toolbox without just pulling the lid off. The Standard holder has some braces in the lid to keep the deep well sockets in place also. To do the lettering used a virtual extruder (single extruder MM setup) so you will have to change colors when it hits the lettering. Made them 0.4mm so it's only for a few minutes. Used the setting from rnbarrett and it worked great. You can look on page 5 of the forum post: "Manual" multicolor . for more info. Also used “No Sparse Layers” in the Wipe tower settings to keep waste down. So that is placed in the back right corner. Also have included a small test 3mf file (TestText_Using2Extruders) so you can test if works with your printer. Including the STL files incase these boxes need modified for your use. Few Printing notes: Enlarged a few of the smaller text than what you will see in Metric /Standard Base pic. Cause sometimes small prints great and other times no. So hopefully the smaller text is big enough now. The 3mf files aren't using supports. I didn't have any problems. On the base maybe one strand didn't attach on the top of one side of the slide slot and same for the lid at the bottom (as printing) of slide support. Just clipped it off and won't ever notice. Can enable supports but will probably have to clean them out pretty well.
