Qualla Check Stamped Bowl Replica Found At Peachtree Site Located in Cherokee County, North Carolina, this Qualla Check Stamped bowl replica was unearthed at the Peachtree site (31Ce2). Dating back to the Mississippian period (AD 1400-1600), it is a stunning example of ceramic craftsmanship. Measuring 145.2 mm in length, 144.6 mm in width, and 58.9 mm in height, this replica bowl is an exact duplicate of the original artifact, which is housed at the US National Museum of Natural History in Washington. The replica itself is part of the North Carolina Archaeological Collection, curated by the Research Laboratories of Archaeology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was modeled by skilled artist Chris LaMack.
