This is a brand-new design for a simple quadruped robot that's incredibly easy to print using a hobby-grade printer, as demonstrated by the one shown here which was printed on a Prusa I3 Mark 2. The assembly process doesn't require any screws or bolts; instead, the parts click-fit together with an impressive tolerance of just 0.3mm. For the electronics, you'll need eight servos (9G), a microcontroller, a servo controller, and power to bring this robot to life. The model shown here uses the following components: Adafruit Feather: This is a compact and powerful microcontroller that's perfect for robotics projects. You can find it at https://www.adafruit.com/product/3067. Adafruit 8-Channel Servo FeatherWing: This handy board allows you to control up to eight servos directly from your microcontroller, making it a must-have for any robot project. Check it out at https://www.adafruit.com/product/2778. 4xAA Battery Holder: Keep your batteries organized and within reach with this convenient holder. It's available at https://www.adafruit.com/product/3946. 8x MG90S High-Speed Micro Servo Metal Gear: These fast and precise servos are perfect for robots that need to move quickly and accurately. You can find them on Adafruit's website at https://www.adafruit.com/product/1699. This robot was designed using OnShape, a browser-based parametric CAD software package that makes it easy to create complex designs with ease.
