Please note that there's a bug in this SCAD file. I utilized D as a radius for the helices, which isn't correct. Review the comments or modify the file by incorporating [D1/2,0,0] and [D2/2,0,0] into the script. This OpenSCAD script generates a 2.4GHz "quadrifilar helix antenna". Dimensions are calculated using John Coppens' webpage http://jcoppens.com/ant/qfh/calc.en.php . The STL file has been reduced in Meshlab. Remember that this is experimental. At the very least, you'll need advanced radio amateur skills to obtain any results from this... Personally, I must rely on a colleague at work for the radio aspects. Instructions: Study the antenna type on the web and understand all the physics involved ;-) . Print it. Mount the wires. Conduct lab measurements. Tinker with the SCAD files and return to step 2. Use it with your RC aircraft. Optional (7): Repair your aircraft and restart from step 1.
