Quadraxis from Metroid Prime 2
thingiverse
This is a fully articulated figure of Prime 2's boss Quadraxis, one of my personal favorites from the series. The design was created entirely from scratch using only a render and in-game screenshots to work with. There are many differences between this version and the real thing, so I focused on making it functional and am pleased with the results so far. The idea behind this baddie is to replicate the ability to destroy shields from its legs and knees just like in the game. As a result, some parts that could have been made in one piece were split into two for better functionality. To assemble this figure, you will need to glue a significant number of pieces, and instructions are included. Being my first attempt at creating a 3D model from scratch, I recognize that some parts could be optimized further. Any feedback on how to improve the design is welcome! I made some additional changes based on your requests: I added a slightly smaller Body part, still larger than the real thing but more detailed. I also increased the size of the head to compensate for the bigger-than-original Body, which makes the v1 Head seem smaller in comparison. Furthermore, new parts have been added, including a hollowed head with separated eyes and shields, as well as sideguards that connect LEG2 and the Knees (LEG2 already has a hole where these links go). I also replaced the knee files and added a hole where the other end of the link goes.
