thingiverse
Measure the altitude of celestial objects using this small quadrant. The star-disc serves as a plumb bob at the end of a short string length. Thread the string between the upper left hole and the small hole passing through the bob. Adjust the length so that the bob barely reaches the angle scale. It's common sense to never use this quadrant to directly observe the Sun. However, you can hold the device properly to allow the Sun's light to travel down the sight tube, casting a shadow in the process, thus enabling Sun angle measurements.
