Quadra-Pigeon 2
thingiverse
The second iteration of the Quadra-Pigeon features longer, hollow arms; rubber-mounted motors and control board for enhanced stability; and electronics protected by a cover. The old camera mount has been completely removed, with numerous small changes implemented throughout the design. To avoid issues in modeling, Sketch up was abandoned in favor of Solidworks. This model is entirely designed using Solidworks. Future plans include designing a gimbaled camera mount. Arms can be printed at 25% fill and may require supports. The top and bottom plates are 20% filled with no need for supports, while the "Igloo" top cover requires 10% fill and can be placed upside down without support. Hardware is similar to the original Quadra-Pigeon, but 24 rubber grommets (1/8" inside diameter, 1/4" outside diameter, and 1/16" panel thickness) are required for additional protection. Test flights reveal that this version flies excellently, despite its larger size.
