QuadFusion Bowden Hat (The QUADEN!)

QuadFusion Bowden Hat (The QUADEN!)

This is a design to take the M3D QuadFusion print head and swap out its small motors for your own bowden extrusion motors. For my implementation, I decided to go with the Voron Mobius 3 extruder, which is likely more than needed for this project but looks AMAZING. You'll need to print the hat on its side with supports in place. I have a threaded version up and plan to add a heat insert version for better, stronger threading. There are probably some tweaks that need to be done to the hat to make it easier to print and as clean as possible. But like all great things, this will come through more iterations of the design. **Update 4/6/2019** I fixed the alignment of the bowden hat to better match the holes on the quadfusion body. To prevent buckling, it's essential to insert PTFE tubes in the hat. I'll post some pictures later to show how it works. **Update 4/14/2019** Tightened up the tolerances and alignment a bit more to remove some play I noticed in the previous version. Also, depending on your printer, you may need to use a 5/32 drill bit to drill out the holes where the small PTFE segments will be inserted. **Update 4/23/2019** Adjusted the height that the screw holds in to get the hat a little more snug. Also made the brackets on the hat which hold the screw a little thicker to give it a little more strength. **Update 4/26/2019** Added a picture of a dragon I recently printed with this setup.
