Quaden Hat and Insert Remix

Quaden Hat and Insert Remix

thingiverse

This upgraded Quad Bowden Hat for M3D Crane Quad print heads offers several key changes. Firstly, the geometry of the original hat has been reconfigured to enable printing without supports. Secondly, I relocated the inserts filling the motor mounting holes inside the Quad clamshell, eliminating the need for original bearings and incorporating allen key / flat head screw fittings for rotation once released. Fine-tuning is possible after assembly to ensure smooth filament passage. Notably, this design addresses a common issue with M3D Quads - insufficient power from small motors to extrude filament consistently and precisely. A previously designed fan attachment aimed to keep the motors cool but was ultimately abandoned in favor of frame-mounted bowden extruders for better performance. This hat is not compatible with Quaden inserts by Sindarius. If you print this design, please provide feedback on potential improvements or consider remixing it.
