Quadcopter Wheels
thingiverse
A protective roll cage for the Xtreem Quadcopter adds an extra layer of excitement while driving around on the floor and chasing the cat! To construct this durable cage, I utilize a sturdy 1/16 inch diameter aluminum tube for the visible bar. However, carbon fiber would be an ideal choice if it can be sourced. Aluminum tubing is readily available at Ace Hardware or Osh. Before printing, I manually drill precise holes using a 1/16 inch diameter bit. Update: TAP Plastic offers a .07 inch diameter carbon rod option and also carries 1/16 inch diameter acrylic rods, which work exceptionally well due to their excellent spring properties.
