Check out this awesome video of a guy flying his custom-built hexacopter: http://youtu.be/fc8OA42jAlw Now, let's talk about the components that make up this beast. I'm using the Turnigy Multistar 4225-390Kv 16Pole Multi-Rotor Outrunner motor, which can be found at hobbyking.com. Next up are the Flycolor 20 Amp Multi-rotor ESCs, which provide a reliable and efficient way to power my copter's motors. These ESCs are also available from hobbyking.com. For my batteries, I'm using two ZIPPY Compact 5000mAh 4S packs, each providing plenty of juice for my hexacopter. You can find these at hobbyking.com as well. Finally, let's talk about the props. I'm using the 17x5 Carbon Fiber Propellers, specifically designed to fit the DJI S800 Hexacopters. You can get a pair of these props from hobbyking.com.
